Madrone Art Bar presents: MARCH MADNESS March, April, May, 2012 Opening reception with the artists: Wednesday March 14, 2012. 6pm to 9pm Divisadero Art Walk, Thursday April 12 Why March Madness? People often ask the question, “Why is Madrone called an Art Bar?” Personally I think it’s a stupid question, as if its not obvious. However the simplest answer is to compare the logic to that of a Sports bar. A sports bar has TV’s and shows sports, our focal point here is ART. Thus in relation to a sports bar’s coverage of the NCAA college basketball tournament, I decided to hand out mini-basketball hoops to 15 artists. There were no rules whatsoever placed upon them.
