It’s the Lunar New Year of Snake! This sculpture is inspired by two half human half snake deities in Chinese mythology who created the humanity, invented Yingyang Bagua, Chinese characters, music, hunting, fishing and marriage. The compass and square ruler in their hands are associated with ancient Chinese belief that the Heaven is round and the Earth is square. The Chinese phrase “規矩” (“rule” or “the way things should be”) is literally composed of the character “compass” and “square ruler”. Misstencil added a CD and a drink to this motorized sculpture, it’s now rotating in eternal pleasure of music and wine — as the way things should be!
