A large collection of his “Compliant Traffic Sign” pieces will be displayed on our 44’ long interior art wall.
Signs are all around us. They are designed to make us pause and refocus our attention in order to note a hazard, follow a rule or find a location. Not following signs can have a variety of consequences.
Our world has become a place where the truth, and what rules apply to whom, has become fluid. What we once took for granted is now flipped, chopped up, reorganized, and sent back to us from a new point of view, often to suit a party’s best interest or specific needs.
These transformed road signs are a representation of that misinformation process without creating controversy and division. What do they now say or ask? I encourage people to bring their own interpretation to them, smile and see actual traffic signs as having scrambled meanings inside.
