Refuse Refuse aims to motivate San Franciscans to take actions needed to clean our streets and beautify our neighborhoods. They organize their own events and cleanup opportunities, as well as partner with other local organizations, with the ultimate goal of keeping San Francisco free of refuse.

Cigarette butts are the #1 most littered single-use plastic item on Earth, and these homemade butt-cans are one of the ways we can help prevent them from polluting our environment. You’ll be painting and decorating these butt-cans that we’ll later put out in areas we find concentrations of butts to give smokers a better place to put their butts.
